Trip Report for February 2008
Departure Day
No bird watching this morning. Instead Clare took us to the compound over the road and her neighbours showed us around their home, before the youngsters took us on a guided tour of the village. This was a great experience – they showed us everything from the village store to the school.
It was then time to relax by the pool and pack before lunch and departure for the airport. We were all really sorry to be leaving – we had such a good time and felt that it had been more like staying with a family than in a hotel. It was a holiday that we would thoroughly recommend – not only did we get some excellent bird watching, but we had a good insight into Gambian life away from the tourist areas.
