Camaloo Corner

Open water and mangroves, salt marsh and scrubland make up the habitat of Camaloo Corner, where herons and egrets come to roost. There is the likelihood of various sightings in the early morning or late afternoon, including Squacco Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Purple Heron and the Great White Egret.

Red-necked Falcon, Four-banded Sandgrouse are often seen and even daytime sightings of Standard-winged Nightjar are not unknown (though rare!). Giant Kingfisher are regularly to be found on the wires by the bridge. Yellow Wagtail, Northern Red Bishop, Wattled Plover, Senegal Parrot and Blue-bellied Roller add to the varied species found here at Camaloo Corner.
