






Bund Road
Near Banjul is the Bund Road, an area well known to local guides and visiting birders and sure to provide much interest and new species for your list.
On the landward side is an area of marshy pools and mangroves alive with waders such as Little Stint, Dunlin, Bar-tailed Godwit and Black-tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper and Black-winged Stilt. Long-tailed Cormorant, Ringed Plover and Little Ringed Plover and Yellow-crowned Bishop may be seen along with Pink-backed Pelican and Abyssinian Roller.
The seaward side of the Bund Road, on the wrecks in the bay, you may see Western Reef Herons roosting along with Great Cormorant. Slender-billed Gull and Avocet are common. Black Tern and White-winged Black Tern may be seen, along with Yellow-billed Stork and Caspian Tern.
Pied Kingfishers and African Mourning Doves perch along the roadside wires.
